GPCC Inducts Dr. Ebenezer Gyamera as General Secretary
The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has officially inducted Dr Ebenezer Gyamera as its General Secretary, marking a significant leadership transition in the life of the Council and reaffirming its commitment to advancing the Church's mission in Ghana and beyond.
The induction ceremony, held in Accra on August 22, 2026, brought together members of the GPCC National Executive Council (NEC), Heads of Churches, representatives of ecumenical and interfaith bodies, government officials, development partners, clergy, and other stakeholders. The occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate God's faithfulness, reflect on the Council's progress, and look ahead with renewed purpose.
Dr Gyamera, a minister of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, assumes leadership of the GPCC Secretariat following the completion of the four-year tenure of Apostle Immanuel N. O. Tettey, whose service contributed significantly to the strengthening of the Council's structures and operations.
Delivering the sermon, Apostle Dr Nana Anyani-Boadum, member of the GPCC National Executive Council and Founder of Jesus Generation Ministries, encouraged the new General Secretary to embrace his responsibilities with humility, diligence, and a spirit of service.
He underscored the importance of unity and collaboration, in advancing the vision of the Council and enhancing its relevance and impact within society.
Acceptance Speech
In his acceptance remarks, Dr Gyamera described his appointment as both a privilege and a sacred responsibility. He expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the Council for the confidence reposed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the mission and objectives of the GPCC.
He pledged to work closely with the National Executive Council, Heads of Churches, member denominations, and key stakeholders to strengthen the Council's programmes and deepen its contribution to national transformation through Christian witness and service.
“It is in that spirit that I accept this appointment. I know that together, by God’s grace and through selfless dedication to service, we cannot fail, but will do better to improve and move forward the goals, vision, and mission of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council,” he stated.
Dr Gyamera also acknowledged the work of his predecessor, Apostle Tettey commending his leadership and the progress he made during his tenure. He highlighted achievements including the review of the GPCC Constitution, efforts to preserve the Council's history, strengthened collaboration between national and regional structures, and increased visibility of the Council's work.
Reflecting on his years of service, Apostle Tettey expressed appreciation to the leadership and member churches of the GPCC, as well as the many partners and stakeholders who supported the Council's work during his tenure.
He acknowledged the value of collaboration, mentorship, and the support of his family and colleagues, noting that the achievements recorded over the years were made possible through collective effort and God's grace.
Peaceful Coexistence
In his address, GPCC President, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, described the induction as an important milestone in the Council's journey. He reaffirmed the GPCC's commitment to fostering Christian unity, promoting peaceful coexistence, and contributing meaningfully to national development.
Goodwill messages from representatives of the Christian Council of Ghana, the Catholic Bishops' Conference, the Office of the National Chief Imam, and the Office of the Presidential Envoy on Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations reflected the respect and recognition the GPCC enjoys among key religious and national stakeholders.
As Dr Gyamera begins his tenure as General Secretary, the Council looks forward to building upon the foundations laid over the years while pursuing new opportunities for ministry, advocacy, and service.
