Apostle James Kofi Abbrey Advocates for Parental Time and Mental Well-being in Holistic Approach

Apostle James Kofi Abbrey, the Executive Director of Holistic Counseling Consult, is emphasizing the critical need for parents to invest intentional and quality time in their children’s lives to prevent them from going wayward.

Acknowledging the challenges of busy schedules, he underscores the importance of creating at least 15 minutes daily for meaningful interaction and growth.

Apostle Abbrey, a seasoned certified counselor, believes that parents should be coached on balancing home, church, and work, as the foundation laid at home becomes paramount.

Apostle who has authored several books and is a facilitator for the Professional Counselling Training, noted in an interview with GPCC News noted he plans to initiate parental forums to guide parents in understanding the holistic approach to nurturing their children.

“Every child needs at least 15 minutes every day with someone passionate about their growth and welfare,” Apostle Abbrey states.

He encourages parents to be intentional about creating this time, ensuring it is spent on physical, mental, spiritual, and relational growth.

Mutual Support

Addressing economic crises causing depression, Apostle Abbrey advocates for psychoeducation in churches, adding that, this involves interacting with the cognitive faculty of individuals to help them understand their situations better.

 He suggests a two-fold approach: change what you can change and change your attitude toward what you cannot. Congregants are urged to support each other, fulfilling the law of Christ by bearing one another’s burdens.

Apostle Abbrey who is also the Head Pastor of Divine Builders Church, highlights the need for pastors to create an empowering environment, focusing not only on preparing members for heaven but also on helping them navigate and live effectively in the world.

He emphasizes the importance of cultivating a community where members look out for each other, fostering an environment of love, understanding, and mutual support.
