A member of the National Executive Council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh has cautioned the youth to be wary of politicians who would attempt to use them to cause mayhem before, during and after the upcoming December elections.

He advised the youth to focus on better life and shun any acts of political vigilantism in the lead up to the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections to advance the country’s democratic credentials.

Apostle Ami-Narh who the President of The Apostolic Church- Ghana said this in an interview with GPCC News Team during the 4th GPCC –Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) during the annual joint ecumenical Business Meeting in Accra at Evangel Assemblies Of God in Accra.

“Politicians should put Ghana first”
Advising politicians, he noted that, Ghana is bigger than any political party, therefore, various political parties need to remain united, support and love one another to keep enjoying the peace in the Country.
“Ghana belongs to all of us and all of us cannot lead therefore we should pray for the person to lead,” he said.

Apostle Ami-Narh stressed that, politicians do not use their children to engage in any form of violence, hence the youth should not allow themselves to be used because when they allow themselves to be lured with money, they would die and the politicians would not die.
“Let’s be wise, why can’t we have election without anyone dying?” he quizzed.
He encouraged the youth to take their future and lives seriously, and further advised them to engage in productive activities that would contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

‘’We need to live in peaceful co-existence with all irrespective of political backgrounds to consolidate the unity and love the country has enjoyed over the years,” Apostle Ami-Narh advised.

He called for the need to promote inter-party dialogue and disseminate the outcomes with membership of the political parties to understand and act on them.
Stakeholder engagements encouraged
The way forward, he pointed out that, all stakeholders should come together and dialogue properly so they follow due process of the Electoral Commission (EC).
“If the churches play their role and all political parties engage the EC among other stake holders, I believe we will have a successful election since we have done it before and we can do it again,” Apostle Ami-Narh encouraged.
Churches, he urged should use their pulpits positively and pray for the country ahead of the December polls.
