“Don’t ignore God’s Word in fighting Covid-19” – GPCC member

A Member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) Rt. Rev. K Owusu-Amoah has urged Christians to remember that the covenant of God cannot be broken, not even by the corona virus now popularly referred to as COVID-19.

Therefore, he said, Christians should tell the world there is a covenant keeping God who “we hold on to at all times.”

Speaking to the GPCC News Teams, he said all that Christians needed now is to have confidence in Him in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic and “He will not forsake us.”

The reverend pointed out that, Christians should tell the world that, they cannot put aside the Word of God because it is the only book that brings healing and the remedy to this global panic.

Christians must pray

Calling on Christians to pray in times like this, Rev. Amoah said men of prayer must arise; women of prayer must arise. Let’s pray as individuals, family, Church because prayer is the only relevant antidote.”

He said, prayer is a serious business hence Christians should take it seriously in times like this so that God would answer His Children.

Hence if the children of God will call on God and pray with seriousness, the clergyman noted that, God will answer His children in difficult situations like this where everything has come to a halt.

According to his observations on social media, he pointed out that, health workers, Presidents among other stakeholders in fighting against this pandemic are praying while many are calling on the churches to pray because they believe God is a prayer answering God.

Quoting from Psalm 127: 1, he said “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”

Hence, he said, if the front liners and prominent people who could find solution to the problem are calling on God, then that shows they acknowledge God is the only hope in the midst of this pandemic.

“By prayer we will overcome”

Believing that God being on the side of His Children, Rev. Amoah said “we will overcome this crisis therefore Christians should continue to put their hope and trust in God in this difficult times.”

Rev. Amoah who is also the General Overseer of the Charismatic Believers Church encouraged Christians with the popular hymn, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow; Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future; And life is worth the living, just because He lives.”

He was very emphatic that, “all fear is gone because we know the covenant we have with God and He who brings the death to live will surely deliver His children.”

Commenting on the pandemic, he said, many have tested positive but they should understand that, God assures them they should not fear because He is with them.
