Do Not Shirk Your Responsibilities- Deeper Life Head to Parents

The National Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and a member of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Pastor Edward Duodu has urged parents not to shirk their responsibilities no matter their busy schedules so they could raise responsible children.

“Parents should not allow material things to shirk their heavenly assignment because it is a command from God,” the National Head advised.

According to Pastor Duodu, the responsibility to train children has been vested in parents urging parents to train their children well to ensure they kept to the straight path in adulthood.

“If we allow work and money to deprive us from delivering our responsibilities, we will see that in future it will have a negative effect on the children and the family,” he said.

Speaking to GPCC NEWS Team, he indicated that parents must balance up everything they do so that they would make time to help the children to become responsible in future.

Quoting Proverbs 22:6, he said “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Account to God

Pastor Duodu said parents would give account of their children in heaven and must take good care of them rather than focusing on material things, “parents should remember they are going to give account of the children in heaven,” he warned.

Advice to Parents

Advising parents, he noted that they should allow the word of God to reign supreme in their lives so they could live exemplary lives in their homes.

Expressing worry about the attitude of some parents, the man of God pointed out that some parents are happy their daughters are in immoral relationships because their children bring them money.

He urged such parents to desist from the ungodly behaviour and have the desire to secure a better future for their children through the word of God.

Pastor Duodu again advised all parents to train their children in moral uprightness to contribute meaningfully to national development.
