Christians urged to trust God despite COVID-19 scare

A member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Ernest Agyepong has urged Christians to magnify God above Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

He said inasmuch as Christians are observing the precautionary measures to protect themselves from this disease, they should magnify God above this difficult situation.

Cautioning Ghanaians to protect themselves by washing their hands frequently, avoiding touching their face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell, Rev. Agyepong who is the General Overseer of Joyful Presence International stressed that they should put their trust in God.

Magnify God to provoke His power

In his sermon themed: “Let’s Magnify God above the Covid- 19” in Accra, he mentioned that, “if we can magnify God over this pandemic, God will intervene in this situation no matter how difficult we see it.”

He operationlised the word magnify as meaning, to make something appear larger than what it is especially with a lens or microscope.

Hence, he quoted, Psalm 34:3 which says “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together”. He said Christians should not magnify the pandemic over God because such a situation has happened before years back but God protected His children.

“The scientists have used the microscope to see how dangerous the virus is, but we should keep magnifying and praising God than the virus,” he said.

He stated that, the microscope would tell us the virus is dangerous, but God is more powerful than it.

Rev. Agyepong pointed out that, scientists are strong to come out with antidotes but there is no antidote than the blood of Jesus Christ, adding that the blood of Jesus brings redemption.

“It does not matter where it is coming from, whether hell or not God knows His children and will protect us from this pandemic,” the Apostle assured Christians.
