The General Overseer of the New Hope Pentecostal Church International, Apostle Richard Kwaku Appiah has advised Pastors to continue to preach the unaltered word of God to their members to prevent being swayed by false pastors.
According to him, the proliferation of local churches in the country has resulted in the rise of divergent doctrines and beliefs that have infiltrated the ranks of believers causing divisions and extremisms in Christendom.
Apostle Appiah gave this advice in an interview with the GPCC News Team in Accra.
Expressing concern of the rise of false prophets, the man of God said it was about time Christians focused on the unadulterated Gospel and stopped chasing men of God for miracles, prayers and deliverance.
Quoting from the Bible, he emphasised it was okay to go to pastors for prayers however God has given everyone the power to overcome challenges and also win the battle against the devil by reading their bibles and praying.
The General Overseer added, “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all other things shall be added unto you.”
Apostle Appiah who is also a member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), found it very troubling that quite a number of Ghanaians have become very desperate for miracles and breakthroughs.
“In fact, some church members who are perceived to be miracle-conscious defect to other churches where they can receive a miracle, but nothing is more miraculous than an unbeliever converting to be a believer,” he said.
Call on Christian Leaders
Touching on their responsibilities as Christian leaders, Apostle Appiah said, “It is our responsibility to protect the vulnerable and represent Christ well in our communities”.
The Apostle called on religious leaders to protect the image of God and the Gospel by initiating measures to ensure Christianity gained root in the country through properly seeking the face of the true God.
Referring to the Bible, Apostle Appiah said he was not surprised by the existence of fake ministers and charlatans parading as men of God because that was in fulfillment of biblical prophecies about the end times.
