A Founding Father of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Daniel K. Saforo has called on ministers of the gospel to project the word of God rather than themselves.
According to him, most pastors have gone wayward and do not have the fear of God in them therefore they are using the Word of God to extort money from church members.
Apostle Saforo said this in an interview with GPCC Media Team in Accra.
Preach Salvation Messages
The retired Chairman of The Apostolic Church, Ghana noted that because many pastors are not preaching the true word of God or salvation messages, today’s youths have become spiritually malnourished.
He advised Christian leaders to preach sermons that would inspire members especially the youth to promote the gospel of Christ.
“The Country is sick and it is because the tide has changed. “These days we have more Church goers than Christians. Christians do not embark on evangelism anymore, just few churches in Ghana have external branches,” Apostle Saforo said.
Apostle Saforo said some local churches out of selfishness have added international to the names of their churches but they do not have a single branch outside Ghana.
Advising charlatans and fake pastors, he urged them to change their ways and have the fear of God so that they not perish at the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Expressing worry about the current situation of Christianity, Apostle Saforo pointed out that some churches in Kumasi start service at 9:00am and close at 1:00pm with no word of God but dance throughout the entire service, while some pastors do not have much knowledge about the word of God.
“Churches who do not have messages are the ones who have Television Stations (TV) and the ones who have the message do not have TV. GPCC should have a TV station so they could preach the true word of God and the right messages to their members,” he suggested.
Apostle Saforo indicated, it was high time Christians and religious leaders practised the word of God and did more fasting as well as prayers for anointing to reduce the rate of sin in the country.
Advising the youth, he noted that the youth should get time for the word of God, fear God, separate themselves from the world, avoid bad friends and make time for the things of God.
