The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Apeakorang has called on Regional Executives to work closely with Zonal Executives to weed out so-called men-of-God whose behaviour drag Christianity in the mud to help sanitise the system without curtailing the freedom to worship .
Speaking at the induction and inaugural service of five (5) newly-elected zonal executives of Agomeda-Ayikuma in the Shai-Osudoku municipality, the Secretary said “sometimes when you watch television and listen to radio, it feels shameful to be a Christian looking at what some so-called men-of-God do”.
He said if the leaders fail to weed out the bad nuts, he feared their behaviour would have far reaching consequences on Ghanaians.
The man of God advised the new executives to work hard to rope in the churches which did not belong to any of the Christian Ecumenical Bodies by packaging their activities and the Council as a whole to attract such churches.
“Those who are not members of the Council, and do not belong to any Council, we should work hard for them to know why they should be part of the Council. We must package ourselves through our activities for them to join us,” he stressed.
Promote the work of God
Rev. Apeakorang noted that GPCC would continue to lead the crusade to weed out all undesirable elements in the religious community.
“GPCC members should make themselves available, serviceable and committed to support the leaders so that GPCC can stand tall and bring the change they want to see,” the secretary encouraged.
He reminded Christians to intensify evangelism as a means of bringing hope and salvation to the people and also get them committed to the things of God.
Rev. Apeakorang urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and have abiding trust in God since there was salvation for those who worshipped God in truth.
