The President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso has cautioned Ghanaians not to associate the “rubbish” and “nonsense” conduct of some churches to GPCC because GPCC churches practise good and sound doctrines.
Rev. Frimpong-Manso said this at the burial service of the late Mrs Gloria Barrigah, wife of the General Secretary of GPCC, Rev. Emmanuel T. Barrigah.
He was concerned about the rise of charlatans and false prophets currently taking over churches, some of whom he said people sometimes associated with GPCC.
Rev. Frimpong-Manso noted that, the organisation is an association of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches that practise sound doctrine and are ready for mentoring.
Touching on the doctrinal practices of GPCC Churches, he indicated that, there are four basic principles that all members subscribe to.
“We believe in Christ as the baptiser of the Holy spirit, the evidence of speaking in tongues, the gifts of the holy spirit that motivate us to do the work of God, and Christ as the Saviour , not this “rubbish” some churches are doing ,” he declared.
The President who is also the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God indicated that, GPCC members believe in the second coming of Christ Jesus and encourage individual members of their congregations to live accordingly.
Commenting on the credibility of GPCC, the reverend Minister stated that, ‘’if we are not credible, a church like Global Evangelical Church, Royalhouse Chapel, Perez Chapel, Church of Pentecost among other churches would not be part of the Council”, he stressed
He indicated that, the National Executive Council of GPCC is composed of great ministers of God who steer the affairs of the Council.
Rev Prof Frimpong-Manso advised the public to ask of the source of a church or its doctrine but not to lump them together as members of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council.
The President commended the Global Evangelical Church for being in good standing and the immense contribution it has made towards the growth of the Council.
“Global Evangelical Church is a church everyone should reckon as law abiding. I thank God for their lives,” he commended.
Therefore, he urged Christians to before the churches they attend and the pastors they allow them to lay their hands on them.
GPCC is a faith-based organisation and an umbrella-body of over 200 Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian church denominations and para-church organisations in Ghana that seeks to unite the body of Christ for the propagation of the gospel. It also helps to meet the spiritual and socio-economic needs of its members and Ghanaians in general through its social action programmes.
