The Head Pastor of Excellent Assemblies of God, Pastor Frank Nyamekye Arthur has expressed dissatisfaction with how some Christians refuse to succumb to disciplinary actions by their leaders when they go against the Christian doctrines and finally decide to stop the church.
According to him, pastors will give account of their stewardship to God therefore, he would not compromise on that, consequently who ever misbehave would be corrected or disciplined.
“Do we need quality or quantities at our various churches, hence the right thing must be done,” he quizzed.
Pastor Arthur said this when giving a sermon themed: “Practical Holy Living; Evidence of a Transformed Life” last Thursday during the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) 2018 week Celebration in Accra.
The man of God pointed out that, someone could go for blood money popularly known as “Sakawa” where the person would be asked not to bath for several days and if the person goes contrary to it, the person would die, yet we get people who abide by it.
Demonstrate Christ-like Behaviour
Pastor Arthur asked “why do Christians of today find it difficult to follow rules in their churches and work places even though Christians must live a Christ- like behaviour anywhere they found themselves?”
“Christians will not obey simple instructions at their church and when you decide to discipline them they begin to complain and nag a lot where some decide to quit the church meanwhile the one who is going for Sakawa was asked not the bath, failure to do so the person will die and the person makes sure he or she does not go contrary to that,” he said.
He said that Christians find it difficult to live according to the bible but should not forget that they are required to live a holy and righteous life once they have decided to follow “our father in heaven.”
Pastor Arthur noted that, holiness is the witness of the church in the community, hence Christians need to live a life worthy of emulation.
“In the Community we live, everyone including the armed robbers, prostitutes are looking at us to live a holy life so that when we preach to them they will listen and give their lives to Christ,” Pastor Arthur noted.
According to him, it is very difficult to differentiate between the believer and unbeliever these days because, “if you see two people drinking at a nearby spot, it will be very difficult to differentiate an unbeliever and believer who are on the same table drinking alcohol,” he said.
Touching on the importance of holiness, he mentioned that living holy is important due to the fact that it would help the individual succeed in life apart from being a command to live a holy life as a Christian.
The Man of God pointed out that living a holy life makes Christians live a Christ -like life since they are the ambassadors of God.
