The President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah has called on Christians to use the principles of the Kingdom of God for national development.
According to him, if Christians penetrate politics, chieftaincy and business with the principles of the Kingdom of God, bribery and corruption would stop for the promotion of national development.
“If we possess Kingdom principles, then these things have to stop and national development becomes automatic, but if we don’t penetrate the various sectors with the principles of the kingdom, then national development becomes a challenge,” he said.
Apostle Onyinah made this statement during a conference themed: “Inspiring Kingdom-minded Living for National Development” organised by GPCC for Heads of Churches.
Reading from Daniel 7: 9-14, Apostle Onyinah said when Christians set the throne for God in all their endeavours, he would take His seat and ensure whatever they do becomes successful.
“We must set the throne in us, by allowing God to take His rightful position in us, and then the kingdom principles will captivate every area of the Country,” the man of God pointed out.
Citing instances, Apostle Onyinah who is also the outgoing Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, stated that when Christianity flourished in the western world, the Protestants took the lead in industrialisation in the nations where they introduced protestant ethics.
Explaining the protestant ethic, he indicated that, the Protestants had to work as if they were worked for God to bring about economic growth in various sectors.
“Some set up industries like Barclays, Clark shoes, Cadbury Chocolate among others. They captivated every sector, this is what they did to transform their nation” he said.
Apostle Onyinah who has served the Council for eight years noted that, national development becomes an automatic outcome of putting the kingdom principles into practice.
“I believe if the kingdom principles are into practice and we are able to inspire others to follow, things will change,” he said.
The man of God reiterated that, Christians have the responsibility to turn the nation around by impacting every area with kingdom principles so that there could be transformation in the country.
According to him, development of the country has been politicized for so long and urged Christians to penetrate every area of the system with the principles of the kingdom to ensure a lasting change in the country.
